What to do in Lockdown

What to do in Lockdown
Lockdown 101

During this lock down it's easy to fall into a hole of laying in bed scrolling through your phone, watching endless series on Netflix or reliving your childhood through Disney+ (Trust me, I know!), but it's so important to make sure you're doing something productive or that you would consider a hobby. This applies even if it's simply for an hour a day.

So, I decided to compile some ideas (with the help of my girls) for what to do in order to occupy yourself during this time.

1. Reading
I have been making my way through all the books I've been meaning to read and have found some amazing books - Book recommendations post coming soon!

2. Jigsaw puzzle
Grace gave me this idea as she is on her second one (despite the first taking her forever to complete!)

3. Try and do Uni work
Just because we're not actually at uni doesn't mean we don't go anymore (does it?). I'm trying to carry on but this one is easier said than done.

4. Clear out your room
Why not give your room a clear-out, clean and re-organise. Having this much time on our hands can be used for something productive that leaves us feeling accomplished and with a fresh room!
Credit to Gee for the inspiration for this one (She was savvy enough to make an Ikea order before Lockdown)

5. Start your TikTok career
This is a Joke, kind of, but if you have those sort of confidence levels, then go for it!

6. Drawing
If you're a skilled artist (which I am most certainly not!) or a beginner, why not use thing time to do something therapeutic and creative

7. Scrapbooking
This is something I'm definitely going to do! Apps such as Free Prints can be so good for this and it's a good way to look back on happier times when you're stuck inside.

8. Excersize
This, I would say, is one of the most important ideas. Being stuck inside all day, only allowed to leave the house once for exersize and no gyms being open is a recipe for laziness. Trust me. But, if you force yourself to go out for a walk, ride your bike, or do an at-home workout either in your house or in the garden, I promise you'll feel much better for it! Me and mom have been going for a walk ever day and I've been trying out some at-home workouts too!

9. Outfit plan
This is for the fashion lovers, like myself. Go through your wardrobe and try out different styles and outfits so that when we come out of this lockdown you have a new style to show off. Using platforms like Instagram and Pinterest is also a good idea for inspiration.

10. Baking
I don't know many people who haven't done this at some point during self-isolation and lockdown. If you can get your hands on the ingredients, why not cook up a cake or some brownies!?

11. Facetime family and friends
I cannot recommend this one enough. It's one of the best ways to stay positive and in contact with everyone when you're not allowed to see them.

Stay safe & Stay home!

My love always, Annabelle Grace
