The Uni Diaries: Anticipation
ANTICIPATION
Starting university, for me, is predominantly exciting, however, there is a constant underlying feeling of nerves. Will I make friends? Is the course going to be right for me? Am I going to be able to cope with the work load? How will I survive freshers week? (because let's face it, most people know that I need a good 8 hours of sleep).
From talking to those who have already experienced their first days, months and year at university I recognise that I will most likely thrive in the environment and truly have the best time. I know that the course I am doing is where my passion lies and that the university lifestyle is one that I can make the most of. From independent living to societies, essays and exams to partying all night, I am determined to make to most of what is on offer. Because really, if you go to university and only come out of it with a degree, have you really made the most of your time, if not the large amounts of money put into it?
Yes, come out of Uni with a degree, the best one you can get at that, but I am also looking forward to leaving university with a whole new set of experiences, friends and skills that will remain with me as I move on in life. With memories to add to the old ones that exist. With a new-found confidence that drives me forward.
Don't be fooled, however, I am aware that Uni also consist of messy kitchens, late nights finishing work, probably (and especially in my case) a few tears and days where you live in sweats. I know that all of this is also part of the reality, and I am prepared for this, because what's real life without tears, messy kitchens and a good old hoodie?
I will aim to continue writing blog posts that included university content, not only for others to read, but also for myself, as a reminder of how I felt at each stage of my life. And also a reminder for others, that you can do whatever you want in life, there may be tears along the way but just ensure that the end result is worth it.
Love always, Annabelle
