Feeling Up When You're Down

On those days where you're feeling down in the dumps its hard to find things that will cheer you up and make you happy again. There are a range of things I like to do when I am having one of those days; it normally depends on what day it is, what I have previously been doing or what I have planned but here is what I do as a general rule...
1. Shower or Bath.
Having a good soak in the bath or a lovely refreshing shower, for me, is key to feeling better and brighter. Whilst you're in the shower take the time to give your hair a thorough wash and a good condition. Use all your products - from scrubs and shower gels to face masks and exfoliators. This way you will feel squeaky clean and fresh and most likely much better than you did previously.
2. Moisturise
Pick out your favourite smelling body lotion or cream and lather your body in it. Take your time and just relax whilst doing this. Also, if your into this, give yourself a nice little self tan. This will make you feel super glowy and happy inside because lets be honest...who doesn't love a good tan?
3. Music.
Whilst doing steps 1 and 2 or even afterwards create a playlist (or use one you already have) of some of your favourite tunes and just relax. Listen to your favourite bands or artists, breath steadily and let the lyrics seep into your soul. Alternatively have a jamming session; pick up that hair brush and dance around your room like no one is watching, because... no one is watching!
4. Appearance.
Put on some of your favourite items of clothing or anything you've recently brought. Then take all the makeup you have and do one of your favourite makeup looks. Obviously you don't have to do this, it is optional of course, you can always do just the regular amount of makeup you use or non at all - whatever makes you happy! If you feel you are looking your best you will become more confident in yourself which leads to happiness!
5. Sleep!
Finally, and personally one of the most important things, getting more sleep! getting your Z's is one of the most beneficial things for you and your body. If you are having a bad day get into bed with a good book and a cup of tea and snuggle down. Go to sleep earlier, this way in the morning you will feel even more refreshed. Also try drinking plenty of water, not only before bed but also all day. This will make your body feel much more hydrated and rejuvenated.
These are just some of the things I like to do personally, if you have any other suggestions feel free to leave them in the comments.
- Love always, Annabelle xox
